I completed my undergraduate degree in Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Glasgow. During my degree, I undertook an industrial placement year at Redx Pharma and a research project with Dr Andrew Jamieson into the synthesis of non-native zinc-binding amino acids for incorporation into peptidomimetic inhibitors of histone deacetylase. At the ICR, in a collaborative project between Dr Sebastian Guettler and Prof Ian Collins, I investigate novel strategies to target the PARP enzyme tankyrase.
